God’s Character of Love

1 Jn. 4:7-8, 7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

You’ll notice the phrase, “God is love,” at the beginning and end of this timeline:

Why?

Because this truth shapes everything on this chart and allowed sin to do its flattering, deceitful, and destructive work that no other ultimate being, without such a character of love, would tolerate, but end immediately.

And notice that these 3 words…

God is love

…are the first and last 3 words in the first and last books of the powerful, 5 volume set, Conflict of the Ages series:

Book 1

Patriarchs and Prophets

God is love.1 John 4:16. His nature, His law, is love. It ever has been; it ever will be. “The high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity,” whose “ways are everlasting,” changeth not. With Him “is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” Isaiah 57:15; Habakkuk 3:6; James 1:17, Patriarchs and Prophets, 33:1

Book 5

The Great Controversy

The great controversy is ended. Sin and sinners are no more. The entire universe is clean. One pulse of harmony and gladness beats through the vast creation. From Him who created all, flow life and light and gladness, throughout the realms of illimitable space. From the minutest atom to the greatest world, all things, animate and inanimate, in their unshadowed beauty and perfect joy, declare that God is love. The Great Controversy, 678:3
