Section 2. God’s Plan of Salvation (Panels A & B on back)

  1. Elected (1 Pt. 2:6)…
  2. Slain from the “foundation of the world” (Rev. 13:8) in purpose & promise (Job 33:24 cf. Gen. 3:15. The woman = God’s people (Jer. 6:2); the Seed = Christ (Gal. 3:16); the serpent = the devil (Rev. 12:9; 2 Cor. 11:3, 13-15); the bruising of Christ ’s heel = His death on Calvary (Mt. 26:1 to 28:20); and the bruising of the serpent’s head = the destruction of Satan forever at the end of the Millennium (Rm. 16:20; Eze. 28: 19) …
  3. Officially slain at Calvary, then
  4. Ascended to heaven where He was inaugurated as our High Priest (AD 31) and is now ministering as our continual High Priest in the Heavenly Sanctuary…
  5. Is our Judge & Advocate (Tue., Oct. 22, 1844 – CP)
  6. Serves redeemed at Marriage Supper of the Lamb (Lk. 12:35-37) = Chiefest is servant of all (Mk. 10:42-45)!…
  7. Has final coronation & reigns forever…
  1. The New Covenant = The Covenant of Grace (Jer. 31:31-34; Heb. 8:8-10) = The Everlasting Covenant (Gen. 17:7) = The Everlasting Gospel (Rev. 14:6; Heb. 4:1, 2). Notice: A covenant is made between two parties. Here: (1) Christ our Savior & (2) we the repentant sinners needing the grace His New Covenant supplies. In this covenant, Christ was condemned for us & treated as we deserve, & in exchange, we are treated as He deserves & justified by His righteousness (2 Cor. 5:21, KJV. See The Living Bible for this verse. It ’s fantastic!)! Then, in love, we return to our loyalty to all His commandments (Jer. 31:31-34; Eze. 36:25-27). What an exchange! What a Gracious Covenant!… What a wonderful Savior is Jesus Christ our Lord! =
  2. The Science of Salvation & Redeeming Grace will be the science we, the redeemed, will study for eternity! Let’s all be there & study this grand theme together with our gracious Redeemer!

  • Salvation’s Parable
  • On Earth
  • Fall to Calvary

Entrance = At the Fall…the very day we needed God’s plan of salvation.

The sanctuary faced East so God’s people had their backs to the sun & sun worship.

Through the Sanctuary, God shows how He:

  • 1. saves repentant sinners,
  • 2. answers Satan’s accusations,
  • 3. removes sin forever from His universe, &
  • 4. restores face-to-face communion.
  1. The Lamb Slain: From the Fall, God has taught fallen man 3 Principles of Salvation:
    • 1. The sinner lives because a substitute died in his place (Gen. 3:21; 22:13; Job 33:24);
    • 2. The substitute provides the only covering for the sinner God can accept (Gen. 3:21; Isa. 61:10; Zech. 3:1-5; Lk. 15:22 = “the best robe;” cf. Gen. 3:7; Isa. 64:6; 30:22); &
    • 3. The repentant sinner can now obey God after the FALL only as he relies totally upon the strength from the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (John 15:5; Phil. 4:13). Thus, by offering blood (Lev. 17:11), the sinner:
      • 1. Acknowledged the authority of the law (Rm. 7:12),
      • 2. Confessed the guilt of his transgression (Prov. 28:13), &
      • 3. Expressed his faith in Christ who was to take away the sin of the world (Jn. 1:29). But he was not entirely released from the condemnation of the law (Rm. 8:1; Jn. 8:31).
  2. Old Covenant = An object lesson & reminder of The 3 Principles of the Plan of Salvation (at left) from Sinai to Ca lvary

[Back on Earth After 1,000 year Millennium on Revelation 20]

7AS: Feast of Tabernacles, Part 2—The Harvest of the Wicked (Mt. 13:24-30, 36-43; Panel D)

  1. Marriage—In the Garden of Eden: Christ (Bridegroom, Isa. 54:5), humanity (bride, 2 Cor. 11:2), our relationship = a Marriage to Christ (Jer. 3:14)
  2. Marriage problems—The Fall of mankind: Mankind chose to divorce herself from her Heavenly Creator & Husband (Rm. 6:11 – 16).
  3. Rough courtship: Christ our Heavenly Bridegroom woos all humanity (“whosoever wills” John 3:16) to Himself again, His erring bride, down through the centuries by His tender love. In fact, no earthly groom could ever be as patient with the faults of his earthly spouse as is our Heavenly Bridegroom with us, His erring bride, whom He ever seeks to save & rewed (e.g., His people during the Judges & Kings of Judah & Israel; Hosea & Gomer; etc.). Oh, listen as He breathes forth such entreaties of unparalleled love: Jer. 31:3; Isa. 55:7; 43:25; 44:22; 49:15; 5:4; Ps. 103:12, 13; Micah 7:18, 19; Eze. 18:32; Prov. 23:26; 19:11; Lk. 15:11-32 = The Story of the Prodigal Son = cf. Isa. 49:24, 25. [In yellow box:
    • The Youth’s Instructor, Nov. 8, 1900, paragraph 10 cf. Isa. 49:24, 25, At an infinite cost to heaven we have been given a second probation. Then should not God be in all our thoughts? Should not his will control our actions?
    • Christ’s Object Lessons, 202:1 cf. Jonah 1:1-4, The love of God still yearns over the one who has chosen to separate from Him, and He sets in operation influences to bring him back to the Father’s house. The prodigal son in his wretchedness “came to himself.” The deceptive power that Satan had exercised over him was broken. He saw that his suffering was the result of his own folly, and he said, “How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father.” Miserable as he was, the prodigal found hope in the conviction of his father’s love. It was that love which was drawing him toward home. So it is the assurance of God’s love that constrains the sinner to return to God. “The goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance.” Romans 2:4. A golden chain, the mercy and compassion of divine love, is passed around every imperiled soul. The Lord declares, “I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” Jeremiah 31:3.
    • To Be Like Jesus, 348:1, It is the Savior’s love that constrains the messenger to bear the message to the lost. Oh, how wonderful is the importuning of Christ with sinners! Although His love is beaten back by the refusal of hard, stubborn hearts, He returns to plead with greater force, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock.” His love woos with winning force, until souls are compelled to come in.
    • Our High Calling, 23:3, Heavenly angels are commissioned to watch the sheep of Christ’s pasture. When Satan with his deceptive snares would deceive if possible the very elect, these angels set in operation influences that will save the tempted souls if they will take heed to the Word of the Lord, realize their danger, and say, “No, I will not enter into that scheme of Satan. I have an Elder Brother on the throne in heaven, who has shown that He has a tender interest in me, and I will not grieve His heart of love.” 34SDA Bible Commentary 7:922.
    • Testimonies, vol. 6, 401:0, “…and many who have strayed from the fold will come back to follow the great Shepherd.”
  4. The Promises of Prince Charming—Christ (Mt. 6 :25-33): Christ promises to give us forgiveness, salvation, peace, joy, eternal life, & oh, so much more! And He fulfills every promise He makes to us (Num. 23:19; Jos. 21:45; 23:14; 1 Kg. 8:56; Eph. 3:20; Rom. 4:13-21)!
  5. By contrast, every other suitor (e.g. , cars, money, fame, power, relationships, material possessions, etc.) also promise us the world, but deliver very little, if anything at all. Worse yet, that which these suitors offer us is temporary at best (Mt. 16:26). So choose Chr ist, Prince Charming, & remember all He promises us He will always faithfully fulfill!
  6. Every returning sinner to Christ is reunited to Him in a holy oneness best represented by the marriage relationship (Isa. 54:5; Jer. 3:1-14).
    • [He pledging to be their God]
    • [They pledging to serve Him only]
  7. The books in Daniel 7:9, 10 reveal all who look like Christ in character of all who’ve professed Christ as their Husband (Joshua 24:15; 2 Cor. 6:2).
  8. Paradise – Prince Charming (Christ) takes us to the mansions He promised to go & prepare for us (Jn. 14:1-3).
  9. Our 1,000 year Honeymoon (during the Millennium of Rev. 20)
  10. The Marriage Supper of the Lamb (Mt. 8:11; Lk. 22:29, 30; 12:36, 37; Rev. 19:9)
  11. The New Jerusalem descends to Earth (Rev. 21:1, 2).
  12. Christ destroys our old home & builds us a new one (Rev. 21:5)
  13. Sets up housekeeping with us, His eternal bride, and,
  14. All live happily ever after (Rev. 5:13; Ps. 145:10; Nah. 1:9)!…
