The Earthly Copy & The Heavenly Original

The earthly sanctuary was built “according to the pattern” of the heavenly sanctuary with its services, furniture, High Priest, etc. (Ex. 25:8, 9; Heb. 8:1-6). And its two-phased ministry was a preview, or “shadow,” of Christ’s ministry after His resurrection. This includes God’s work of “seeing the guests” (Mt. 22:9-14) foreshadowed in the earthly copy on the Day of Atonement (Lev. 16) referred to in Dan. 8:14 regarding the Great Day of Atonement (also known as the Investigative Judgment or Pre-Advent Judgment) in the Heavenly Original:
